Norwest agility ribbon trial

After a very long 12 hour night shift at work, Pepper and I went out to Kumeu on Sunday morning. I spent the entire time there alternating between feeling like I was having palpitations, feeling confused or like I was about to pass out. No sleep for over 48 hours will do that to you! Thank god for Lynne driving me out and Ben picking me up as there was no way I would have been safe on the roads.

Anyway, it was worthwhile going, we had our first agility win, in Elementary B we were 1st out of 31 entries. She ran really nicely, with me flapping along somewhere behind her. North Shore club had 4 dogs in the top 5!

Then we had a good starters run, got the weaves, although still a bit slow, and had one moment where she nearly took an off course, but still clear, and we ended up 3rd out of 83 dogs! Yay for us.

I was so wreaked that I can't even remember getting home but I woke up the next morning at about 10am feeling like I'd been run over by a train.

Misty, loving the sun.

And now we have to wait 4 weeks until the next show, which seems blimming ages away.

  1. 48hours with no sleep, well done to you! We can't even go 5hours without flopping to the ground! :p

Congratulations on your 1st and 3rd place in agility :)

Those are some really great action shots, everyone looks so profesional jumping the jumps!
Haha sadly we don't look that proffesional while jumping :p

    Licks and lots of slobber,

  4. Hi Pepper,

On my blog your mum asked about how I did in Elementary recently. I got 59 and a 1/2 points out of 60, so I got 2nd place (after a run off with another dog on equal score). My mum was really surprised about getting a ribbon, as this was only the third time I've been to an obedience ribbon trial (the second was in January which was when I realised you and I were in the same elementary ring together).

However with my new puppy I've developed puppy brain and I have forgotten most things I know. Playing with Enzo (and not responding to mum) is currently more fun!

    Woofs,
    Riley

  5. Wow that's awesome! Congrats. I know how the sleep thing goes because my husband works twelve hour night shifts and sometimes has to stay up for forty eight hours to get anything done. I'm glad you had a driver because after being awake for a certain amount of time your body reacts as if you're drunk. I'm shocked you made it through an agility course like that. :) And you got first. Good job! I hope you've caught up on your sleep.
